Project Description

OPW – Dublin Zoo – Houghton House

The restoration project carried out at Houghton House, Dublin Zoo brought the 1898 building back to it’s original splendour. The building houses a ‘Learning and Discovery’ centre on the ground floor and lecture rooms on the 1st floor.

The electrical Installation included lighting, general services, power, Distribution groups, intruder alarm installation, fire alarm installation, door access system, CCTV, lightning protection and voice/data.

The installation also included a specialist Audio Visual system and lighting control system to facilitate lectures.

Project Description

OPW – Dublin Zoo – New Restaurant & Facilities Building

The new restaurant building provides seating for 250 people indoor and a further 75 on the outdoor terrace. In similar building style and adjacent to the restaurant is the Facilities building which houses administrative staff offices. This is a two-storey building and includes a canteen, showers, toilets and services unit.

The electrical installation included lighting, general services, power, fire alarm, security and CCTV and Voice/Data Installation. All services within these buildings were required to be linked in to the services for the entire zoo complex.

Project Description

OPW – Dublin Zoo – New Entrance Building

Demolition of existing ticket entrance, Construction of a new ticketing building, admissions entrance and refurbishment of the existing shop unit.

The electrical installation included lighting, general services, power, fire alarm, security and CCTV, AV, Automatic Turnstile Access, Voice/Data Installation.

All services within these buildings were required to be linked in to the services for the entire zoo complex.
